Venus Dancing Print

$44.00

This hand-carved print by Kiki depicts the rotation Venus makes around the Earth over the span of 8 years, equivalent to 13 Venusian orbits around the Earth of approximately 224.8 days each orbit. Known as the Venus Pentacle, this cycle has been witnessed for thousands of years by ancient civilizations including Mayan astrologers/astronomers. It brings forth our fascination with the cosmos and reminds us how we are always dancing in the sky. Venus is speaking important, unmistakeable intelligence about beauty, harmony and grace.

Image* is 4 3/4” (12cm) X 7 1/4” (8cm) printed on 8 1/2 X 11 inch acid free archival Hahnemuhle paper.

‘The word pentagram – or five-sided figure – is used because, over the eight years, each phenomenon – each relative position of Earth, Venus, and the sun – occurs five times. Then, over the next eight years, they repeat five times almost identically.’ (Guy Ottewell) In drawing the lines of this pattern I gathered formative information that I will enjoy sitting with for remainder of my life and hope you will too. It brings great joy alongside mystery. Venus Pentagram is also associated with Leonardo Da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man.

‘The 5 sequential Venus cycles shown form a pentagram made by the 5 points of its Sun-Venus conjunctions. This is a symbol found in ancient Vedic mythology and all mystical traditions. In the Vedic Astrological lore, the Holy Kumaris are considered Promethean beings–who were thought to have used these Sun-Venus conjunctions to give infant humanity the spark of intelligence and the seed of indi- viduality–for better and for worse… the Venus Pentagram Points (VPP) are empowering points of intelligence in your chart. These Venus-Sun conjunctions in your personal horoscope highlight the place where you nurture the Kumari seeds, which are regularly bestowed via transits into your chart. (Powers, Mysteries of the Venus Pentagram p. 26)
